Shahid Afridi shares a tweet to confirm his daughter’s engagement with Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The internet was already buzzing with the news and congratulatory messages from the past two days. Both the Afridi’s are trending on social media timelines this time for non-cricketing reasons.

However, a former Pakistan skipper took to social media to confirm his daughter’s proposal.

“Shaheen’s family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field,” Shahid Afridi shared in a tweet.

While the groom to be soon, Shaheen Shah also responded to Afridi’s tweet.

Quoting Shahid Shahid Afridi’s message, Shaheen wrote, “Alhumdulillah. Thanks, Lala for your prayers. May Allah SWT make things easier for everyone. You are the pride of the entire nation.“

Both Afridi and Shaheen featured in the Pakistan Super League sixth edition (PSL6) which was unfortunately postponed last week due to several COVID-19 cases.

20-year-old, Shaheen Shah Afridi is a left-arm pacer, has represented Pakistan in 15 Tests, 21 ODIs, and 22 T20Is picking up 48, 45, and 24 wickets respectively.

Reports earlier suggested that the two families have reached an understanding, but a formal engagement will be announced in some time.

Earlier, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s father Ayaz Khan had told the media that the two families have a long-standing relationship, Shahid Afridi’s family has agreed to the relationship, the engagement ceremony will be soon.

Pakistanis were delighted to hear that Lahore Qalandars fast bowler Shaheen Afridi and former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi’s daughter will be getting engaged.
