Actor turned politician Sunny Deol who is BJP’s MP from Gurdaspr in Punjab, just pulled off a real life heroic scene as he saved a woman sold into slavery. The woman identified as Veena Bedi was trapped by a human trafficker who sold her in Kuwait.
As per reports Veena was sold to a Pakistani man in Kuwait by a scam disguised as travel and hiring agent. The human trafficker had promised the 45-year old woman to get a job for Rs30,000 monthly and instead sold her as a slave.
Upon receiving information of the matter, MPA Sunny Deol personally took charge of Veena’s safety. After a close correspondence with Ministry of External Affairs and prompt action, Veena returned to her family safely on Friday.
While the public lauded Sunny’s heroic, his father veteran actor Dharmendra too took it to Twitter and commended his son’s efforts.
“Naukri samajh ke farz nibhana, Sunny bete (Treat your job as your responsibility, son). God bless you,” wrote Dharmendra.
After a long Bollywood career, Sunny joined BJP in April 2019 and has won his first elections in the General Elections held recently
