“Superstar is a passion project” – Mahira Khan

While fans anxiously wait to see Mahira Khan in The Legend of Maula Jatt, the actor has also verified that she will be seen opposite Bilal Ashraf in Superstar, directed by Ehtishamuddin.

“It’s a romance in its essence, but it’s a story about faith, failure, success and two people who meet each other at a strange time, basically wanting the same thing out of life, but how they want it is very different,” she revealed in an exclusive chat with Instep.

The film revolves around stardom in Pakistan and Mahira will be seen essaying the role of an actress. For the first time, she will be seen paired opposite Bilal Ashraf

“It is a passion project. People ask me why I’ve taken it up, but I can’t help it, my heart’s in it,” she said in the interview. Superstar has been undergoing major transitions in its crew and plot.

While Mahira had signed the film years before, Superstar is yet to get a release date. However, The Legend of Maula Jatt starring Mahira is set to release on Eid ul Fitr and she also has a special cameo in Asim Raza’s Parey Hut Love, releasing on Eid ul Azha.
