Pakistani chocolate hero Waheed Murad’s widow Salma passed away on Friday in Karachi.
Her Namaz-e-Janaza will offered today at Sultan Masjid, Defence Phase 4 area of Karachi, after Asr prayers.
Her son Adil Murad announced the sad news in a Facebook post.
“With the heaviest heart and sorrow, we inform you that our beloved Mother, Mrs. Salma Murad W/o Waheed Murad (late) has returned to her creator this afternoon, 13th October 2023, Karachi,” Adil Murad wrote.
Salma Waheed Murad is survived by two children, daughter Alia Murad and son Adil Murad.
The loss comes nearly four decades after her husband Waheed Murad’s passing in November 1983 at the age of 45.
Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) President Ahmed Shah extended his condolences to the family of Waheed Murad.
He recalled her as a decent person who was a member of ACP and prayed for blessings for the departed soul.
She was associated with an NGO and also served as the Pakistan Muslim League President for Karachi Division.
