A free of charge Telemedicine Corona Helpline has been designed by a British Pakistani Orthopedic Surgeon in the country to halt the spread of coronavirus.
Dr Suhail Chughtai, while interviewing to a private TV channel said that he designed “Telemedicine based Corona Helpline” to serve people who need medical advices minimizing the need to go out where they can either catch a virus or spread it.
In a press conference at the inauguration of “Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine” Annual Conference in Lahore last month, Dr Chughtai presented his idea of telemedicine which was widely welcomed and endorsed by Prof Dr Javed Akram, the Vice-Chancellor University of Health Sciences, Lahore.
Governor of Punjab Chaudhary Sarwar inaugurated the helpline and since then he has been active in leading the widening of the service deployment around the Punjab in various universities.
Yesterday, Dr Chughtai gave a presentation on Corona Helpline to President Arif Alvi via video link.
People can visit www.Doctors247.online on their phone or laptops.

After typing name and city, people are connected to the Doctor over Live Video Link with average time ranging from 5-15 seconds.
The service offered is free of charge and people can easily avail without any fee.
According to the website, the shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing if noticed by the doctor, guidelines are followed to arrange an ambulance by calling 1122 on behalf of the patient after knowing their address.
Dr Chughtai said that the highly contagious virus spread can be minimised by social distancing as there is so far not any vaccine available for the treatment.
