Pakistan gets it first ever transgender news anchor, Marvia creates history!

A local news channel has said to make history by hiring the first ever transgender in mainstream media as a news anchor. Marvia Malik is destined to create history, earlier made into headlines for becoming a first ever transgender to walk on the ramp at Pakistan Fashion week.

Maavia, the transgender model, walking the PFDC runway for Jeem, is a lot of firsts

The correct name is Marvia, which has been mistakenly quoted as Maavia previously. Marvia is a confident and an ambitious person having a bachelor’s degree, and has applied for admission in Masters.

It’s being reported that she came for the interview at local news channel at Lahore and was hired. She underwent a three months training program before going on air. As soon the news went viral on social media many came appreciating the appointment by the media organization.

While talking to media Marvia told that she is getting several modeling offers that she might consider, adding more to that she said, “I want to do something for my community that I feel is way behind. So I want to strengthen my people. A transgender person is looked down upon everywhere. But there is nothing that we cannot do; we are educated, have degrees, but no opportunities, no encouragement. This is what I want to change. Just as I created history in the fashion industry, I want to do the same in the media industry”.

The young Marvia seems to be well composed; she also aims to work for legislation to be made for transgender to get legal share in inheritance of their biological parents.
