Priyanka Chopra’s spy thriller Citadel under scrutiny

Priyanka Chopra’s spy thriller Citadel is under scrutiny!

The first season of Citadel released last year, cost Amazon a whopping amount of $250 million.

However, it did not register among the top 10 most-watched streaming programs in the US in any week, according to Nielsen.

As reported, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is reviewing the budget for the original TV programming and asking some of the company’s most expensive hits to review their budgets.

Jassy scrutinized the spending of Amazon’s studio as it faces ballooning costs and mixed audience reviews for its production.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has requested a detailed budget analysis for the company’s major shows, amid an underwhelming performance by six of them in the past nine months.

This request coincides with Amazon’s plans to downsize its workforce and abandon projects deemed unnecessary.

This could lead to a path where shows such as The Boys or The Rings of Power see slashed production costs as Amazon looks to rein in spending.

In recent months, Amazon has invested $100 million each in shows including Daisy Jones & the Six, The Power, Dead Ringers, and The Peripheral.

However, none of the high-budget shows were able to make it onto Nielsen’s list of the top 10 most-watched shows in the US.
