Salman Khan Could Face Up To Six Years In Prison For The Black Buck Poaching Case

The verdict has been given by the Jodhpur court, India, in the Salman Khan black buck poaching case from 1998. Along with Bollywood super star Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam were also accused. This verdict could derail the career of one of the Bollywood’s most popular actors.

After being found guilty, Salman Khan has been sentenced and could face up to six years in prison and IND 50,000 fine, while the rest accused in the case have been acquitted under the section 9/51 of Wildlife Act, reports Indian media. The council is arguing for an early probation.

Salman Khan had killed two black bucks, a protected species, in the western state of Rajasthan while shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain. This is the fourth case filed against the actor in connection with poaching animals during the filming of the 1998 movie Hum Saath Saath Hain. He was acquitted in other 3 cases.

According to media, Khan was found guilty of violating the country’s wildlife law in a case of poaching a black buck, an endangered species of antelope.

It’s not the first time that the actor has been booked by law, In 2015, the Bombay High Court overturned his conviction in a hit and run case in which he was accused of running over a group of people sleeping on a city sidewalk, killing one and injuring four.

Salman Khan who has pulled in billions of rupees at the box office with several hit movies is now pulled into trouble. Super star is currently busy in shooting of his upcoming film Race3.
