These three Pakistani films are headed to cinemas this December

These three Pakistani films are headed to cinemas this December!

After months of desolation, the local cinemas will soon be bustling with three Pakistani films releasing a week after another nationwide this December.

The first local film to be arriving on December 8 is much anticipated Dhai Chaal.

Dhai Chaal, based on the story of Indian RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav, promises a gripping and incendiary tale that sharply counters the often anti-Pakistan rhetoric emerging from Indian cinema.

Directed by Taimoor Sherazi, the film’s cast includes Shamoon Abbasi, Ayesha Umar, Humayoun Ashraf, Adnan Shah Tipu, Taqi Ahmed, Saleem Meraj, Areej Chaudhary, Faraz Marri, Jamal Gilani, Pakiza Khan and Anya Hassan.

The second film releasing this month is Gunjal, slated for a December 15 release.

Directed by Shoaib Sultan and produced by Nighat Akbar Shah, the crime thriller is based on true events that follow journalist Shahbaz Bhatti’s journey as he investigates the murder of child activist Irfan Masih.

Starring Ahmed Ali Akbar in the lead, the star cast of the film includes Resham, Amna Ilyas, Syed Muhammad Ali, Sarmed Aftab Jadraan, Razia Malik, Sardar Nabeel, Ali Aftab Saeed, Arham Khan, Ebtisam Mustafa, Habiba Sufyan, Ahsen Murad, Munir Khan, Usman Zia, and Ahmed Ali Butt.

Last but not least, the third film arriving in theatres is Chikkar.

Chikkar features stellar performances by Usman Mukhtar, Ushna Shah, Faryal Mehmood, Nausheen Shah, Saleem Mairaj, Ali Sheikh, Tipu, and other seasoned actors, will be arriving in theatres on December 22.

The crime thriller Chikkar also marks the directorial debut of Zaheer Uddin.
