Wagah Border recreated in Ludhiana for Salman Khan’s Bharat

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are reported to be shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar directorial Bharat in Ballowal village in Ludhiana, Punjab. To meet the script’s demand, the Wagah border is recreated for the film shooting.

The source reveals as the shooting could not be allowed at the actual location, the requirement was filled by building up the set. On the temporary set location, people dressed up in uniforms as Pakistani Rangers and Border Security Force are seen around.

However, according to the source due to tight security entry for the common visitors is restricted till 18th November. Only village residents and film related crew is being allowed to enter the Bhallowal village, as people are coming to catch a glimpse of Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

An Indian publication quoted the village head’s statement, “The production team approached us almost a month back and asked if they could shoot here. I spoke to farmers whose fields they wanted to use and agreement was reached. Then the set of Wagah Border was prepared in around 20 days. Since it was difficult to get permission to shoot at actual location in Amritsar, they chose our village. Farmers have been given compensation by production house. The shooting here is likely to go on till November 18. However, the cast and crew are not staying in our village. They are staying at a high-end hotel in Ludhiana. They come here for shoot only.”

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s upcoming film ‘Bharat’ has been the talk of the town ever since its announcement. It seems like film Bharat is near its completion of production phase. Photos from various spells of shoot were shared on social media.

This film also features Jackie Shroff, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi and others in pivotal roles. ‘Period drama ‘Bharat’ is an official adaptation of 2014’s South Korean film, Ode to My Father. The film depicts the eternal bond shared by a father and son, slated for 2019 release.
