Élan’s limited edition exotic handbag collection ‘Sauvage Coeur’ launched at Galleria Lahore and Maison Élan Karachi on 9th June 2018. The brand claims that the bags are made of real python and crocodile skin and well, people are not happy.
“Indulge in the extraordinary craftsmanship of Élan with this bold clutch ‘Moonlight Minaudière’ rendered in exotic python skin,” a post on their Instagram account declares.
Élan is not the first brand to skin animals for their own commercial gains. Lizards, alligators, crocodiles and other reptiles are brutally killed every year so that their skins can be sold on a sky-high profit.
However, while many only cared about following fashion, others who are socially conscious demanded an explanation for this animal cruelty.
So far, the brand continues to delete comments and people continue to protest and ask others to boycott this evil too. Will this bring a change or go unnoticed? Because until now, the comments are being ingeniously deleted but it surely has come into notice of the public.
