All Hell Breaks Loose as Pakistani Money Heist Irks Netizens

Netizens went into a frenzy today as reports confirmed that a Pakistani film following the theme of popular Netflix show Money Heist is in the works. Starring A-listers like Faysal Qureshi, Aijaz Aslam, Saboor Aly, and Zhaley Sarhadi, the film reportedly titled 50 Crore has created hype for its very visible rip off of the Spanish show La Casa De Papel.

Other actors in the film include Asad Siddiqui, Mehmood Aslam, Faryal Mehmood, Anoushey Abbasi, Naveed Raza, Omer Shehzad, and Nouman Habib. Some pictures of the actors in their respective characters have started to make rounds on social media and irked the fans of the Netflix show.

Apparently, in line with Money Heist, the film has a team of 10 convicts, each with the name of a Pakistani city. While Aijaz Aslam is Rahim Yar Khan, Zhaley is Mianwali, Saboor is Sahewal, Mehmood Aslam is Dadoo, Faryal is Chaman; Faysal is ‘Chief’ of the gang. Other cities (we mean characters) include Daska, Mirpur Khas, Bella i.e. Lasbela, Lala Musa, and Sheikhu Pura.

Our team reached out to Aijaz Aslam for a comment which he declined due to privacy policy. Fans however speculate that the film will revolve around a gang, led by a ‘Professor’ who plans a heist – or it could be a comical take on the Netflix show others think. Details on the director and production of the film are of course awaited but 50 Crore has surely gotten everyone’s attention.
