Syra Shahroz To Represent Pakistan On An International Platform

After a warm welcome and full house screening in Hong Kong, Syra Shahroz’s debut film Chalay Thay Sath is all set for a screening at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival in China.

Starring Syra Shahroz, Kent S Leung, Mansha Pasha, Osama Tahir and Zhalay Sarhadi, Chalay Thay Saath did well on the box office owing to its refreshing story line and the stunning visuals it presented of Pakistan. Although the film did not do much to impress critics, it was well received by the audience all over.

Now, Chalay Thay Saath has been selected by the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage to represent Pakistan  at the Infocus programme as well as the FilmMart expo. Pakistan is one of the 12 countries to have been invited to participate in the SCO festival.

Talking to a leading daily, Syra Shahroze expressed her delight on being able to represent Pakistan in China, “From full house screening in Hong Kong to getting selected in several film festivals, Chalay Thay Saath has done tremendously well post it’s Pakistan release. One of those festivals was the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Film Festival. Now, it’s making its way to the SCO film festival in China and I’m super thrilled to be representing Pakistan on an international platform.”

The SCO film festival will be held in Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province from June 13 to June 17, 2018.
