Linkin Park Warns Trump Campaign to Not Use Its Music

In the latest of musical bands not wanting to associate themselves with political campaigns and that too particularly of Donald Trump, Linkin Park has warned the POTUS to not use its music for the 2020 election campaign.

“Linkin Park did not and does not endorse Trump, nor authorize his organization to use any of our music,” said Linkin Park on Twitter while retweeting Trump’s video featuring its song In The End, a cover performed by Tommee Profitt featuring Fleurie and Jung Youth.

“Cease and desist has been issued,” the band added.

After a backlash, the video from US President’s social media advisor, has been removed, reported BBC. Jung Youth thanked “everyone in the Twitter community who helped” to take down the video.

“The Lumen database of DMCA takedown notices shows Machine Shop Entertainment, Linkin Park’s business arm and management company, formally requesting the removal of the video under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act in the US,” BBC also reported.

Linkin Park is not the first band to forbid Trump from using its music. Earlier, Adele, REM, and Pharrell Williams have also issued similar notices.
