“American adventurer Collin O’ Brady pays tribute to his fellow adventurers who passed away on K2 this year. At the peak of Mount Everest, he raised flags for his friends who did not survive climbing the deadly K2. Among his friends was Muhammad #AliSadpara from Pakistan,” tweeted the US Embassy Islamabad.
In the photo shared by the US Embassy in Islamabad, Collin O’ Brady can be seen holding flags of the countries to which these mountainers belonged.
Celebrated Pakistani mountaineer Ali Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri Sigurjónsson, and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto were reported missing on February 6 after their support team lost contact with them. The three climbers were last seen on February 5 near the Bottleneck on K2.
After an unfruitful search mission, the three mountainers were declared dead on February 18, 2021.
