Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Bohra community head has been conferred with Nishan-e-Pakistan, the country’s highest civilian award.
President Dr Arif Alvi conferred Pakistan’s highest civilian award Nishan-e-Pakistan on Dawoodi Bohra community head Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin on Tuesday in a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadar, Islamabad.
Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin is the 53rd Dai-e-Mutlaq whose followers are spread across the world with a large number of them being Pakistani citizens.
The conferred award recognises Saifuddin’s services to Pakistan in the field of spiritual guidance and social services.
“The Bohra community head holds a special regard for Pakistan and is an advocate of peace, harmony and goodwill,” the citation read out before the conferment of the award said.
Recounting his services in the education sector, it was said that he had contributed to the building of the School of Law at the University of Karachi and launched a university project.
Multiple healthcare institutions are operating in the name of the Bohra community head providing affordable healthcare to people.
