BTS, the world’s biggest boy band is still breaking records while being on vacation. The internationally famed K-pop band returned to the big screen earlier this month with their third film, Bring the Soul: The Movie, which has made a new record.
“Bring the Soul” is the third concert documentary featuring BTS directed by Park Jun Soo, giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the BTS members.

The documentary combines performances from the group’s “Love Yourself” world tour with a conversation between the septet filmed in Paris in October 2018.
The announcement of achieving the new record was made by BTS Big Hit Entertainment and Trafalgar Releasing on Wednesday, saying that the documentary feature had sold a record 2.55 million tickets across 112 territories worldwide, making it the widest ever release for an event cinema title.
According to Film distributor Trafalgar Releasing, the film brought in $24.3 million worldwide, once again breaking the box office record for event cinema. However, the group’s first film, Burn the Stage, grossed $18.5 million following a second limited run last year.
The number of screenings varied at different locations across the globe. Nonetheless, this latest figure accounts for main screenings between Aug. 7 and Aug. 11, as well as select encore showings.
According to a press release, Bring the Soul racked up $4.5 million in the U.S., taking the No. 10 spot at the box office in its opening weekend. Meanwhile, it hit No. 9 at the box office in the U.K. Following the film release.
