Chaudhry Parvez Elahi produced before the Lahore district court

The court on Friday reserved its verdict on the physical remand of Pervez Elahi

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was produced before the Lahore district court on Friday in two cases registered in Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) wherein the anti-graft watchdog sought 14-day physical remand.

The former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President was arrested in Lahore from outside his residence – Zahoor Palace on Thursday.

Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza heard the anti-corruption application on cases registered against him in Lahore and Gujranwala.

The prosecutor requested the court that Elahi’s 14 days physical remand needed to investigate the cases registered against him.

The prosecutor added Parvaiz Elahi misused his powers and damaged the treasury.

The former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President while speaking to reporters before his appearance, claimed innocence and said that he is a “supporter” of the Pakistan Army, urging party supporters to stay strong.

Parvaiz Elahi had been evading the arrest since May 9 and reiterated his all-out support for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
