Pakistan’s coronavirus tally rises to 720 cases, with new cases reported from all provinces.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to PM on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza on Saturday evening during a press conference briefed that there are a total of 4,064 suspected cases of coronavirus in Pakistan currently.
The number includes the 686 suspected cases that have been reported in the last 24 hours, he added.
He said that the government is managing the number of people coming through the Iran border, adding that at least 3,387 people have been quarantined.
We have established 14 laboratories across the country where tests for coronavirus are being conducted, the health assistant added.
The national policy to curb the spread of coronavirus is social distancing, he said. “I advise people to maintain a distance of two meters at least at all times. So that you stay safe and others too as well.”
Pakistan has so far reported three deaths while three people have recovered from the virus.
The Sindh health department confirmed has confirmed 90 new coronavirus cases in Sukkur taking the Sindh tally to 357.
Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho said the health department has conducted up to 2,700 tests for COVID-19 so far in the province.
On Saturday, Twelve new cases of coronavirus were reported in Balochistan, taking the province’s tally to 104.
The confirmation comes from Balochistan Chief Secretary Faisal Asghar.
All the patients are from Quetta, he said in a press conference.
On Saturday, two new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, taking the tally to 27.
41 new coronavirus cases have been detected in Punjab, according to Qaiser Asif, the provincial health department spokesperson.
With the new cases, Punjab’s tally of COVID-19 cases now stands at 137.
