Interim govt drops petrol price bomb, increases price by Rs13.55

Earlier in the day, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) increased the price of LPG by Rs 1.17 per kg.

The interim government has dropped a petrol price bomb by increasing its price by Rs13.55 for the next fortnight.

After the revision, the price of petrol now stands at Rs272.89 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel stands at Rs278.96 per litre after a hike of Rs2.75 per litre.

The decision was announced late Wednesday night.

New POL prices go into effect from February 1 at midnight.

Furthermore, the price of kerosene oil has decreased to Rs186.62 per litre after a slight deduction of Rs0.24 and the price of light-speed diesel has increased to 166.86 per litre after a hike of Rs2.03 per litre.

While a notification has been issued regarding changes in the prices of petroleum products.

“Government of Pakistan has decided to bring changes in the current prices of petroleum products during the fortnight starting from 1st February 2024, as recommended by OGRA,” the notification issued by the Finance Division read.

 

As per the news source, the latest price hike comes in light of ongoing tensions in the Middle East as Israel continues to press war on Gaza.

Earlier in the day, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) increased the price of LPG by Rs 1.17 per kg.

According to the OGRA notification, the domestic LPG cylinder price has been increased by Rs13.76 and the new per kg price of LPG has been fixed at Rs257.60.
