Petrol rates likely to be increased by Rs.14.37 per litre for the month of May

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended Rs14.37 per litre hike in the price of petrol from 1st May, according to the news source.

The summary for the increase in petroleum product prices has been moved to the Petroleum Division.

Reportedly the proposal for the increase in petroleum prices in line with the fluctuation of oil prices in the international market.

The source further reveals that OGRA has suggested Rs4.89 per litre increase in diesel prices, Rs7.46 per litre in kerosene oil and Rs6.40 per litre hike in Light diesel prices.

The final decision will be made by the ministry of finance with the consultation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

If the suggested price is approved, the petrol will cost Rs. 113.26 per litre.

Currently, one-litre petrol costs Rs 98.89. Last month Rs. 6 were increased after OGRA’s recommendation of RS. 12 increase.

The federal government has earlier increased the petroleum oil lubricant (POL) Prices for the month of April 2019.

The price of Petrol and high-speed diesel were increased by Rs 6 per litre, prices of light diesel and kerosene oil raised by Rs 3 per litre each, while the price of high-speed diesel was increased to Rs 117.43.

The light diesel costs Rs80.54 and kerosene costs Rs89.3 per litre, after the April price increment.
