NEPRA okays Rs2.83 per unit increase in electricity tariff

The new price hike will also not apply to K-Electric consumer

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday, okayed a Rs2.83 per unit increase in electricity tariff.

NEPRA has increased the power tariff by Rs2.83 per unit for March 20204, on account of monthly fuel adjustment, leading to an additional burden on inflation-hit consumers.

“The price hike stated that the tariff has been jacked up on account of fuel charges adjustment, which will be reflected in the bills issued in May,” the regulatory authority notified.

NEPRA has directed all the Distribution Companies (Discos) concerned to strictly comply with the orders of the courts notwithstanding this order.
