Gregory Peck’s grandson, Ethan Peck, will be playing iconic “Spock” in Star Trek: Discovery

Hollywood’s legendary actor Gregory Peck’s grandson, Ethan Peck, has been cast as iconic half-Vulcan science officer Spock in CBS’s Star Trek: Discovery.

In a statement, executive producer Alex Kurtzman said that, “Through 52 years of television and film, a parallel universe and a mirror universe, Mr Spock remains the only member of the original bridge crew to span every era of Star Trek”.

Ethan Peck’s previous credits include the TV adaptation of “10 Things I Hate About You”. According to the reports he will be unveiled in his new character in the second season of the Star Trek: Discovery which is slated for its release in early 2019 on the CBS All Access streaming service.

This announcement comes few days after the 78 years old British star, Patrick Stewart’s revelation that he would be reprising his role as Jean-Luc Picard in a new CBS Star Trek series centering on the character’s life post Star Trek: Next Generation, which went on air from 1987 until 1994.

Peck’s grandfather was one of the greatest stars of Hollywood’s golden era, starring in such classic movies as Roman Holiday and Cape Fear. Still termed as the most dignified actor, who picked up five Oscar nominations and won it for To Kill a Mockingbird. Gregory Peck died in June 2003 at the age of 87.
