Temperature is Karachi likely to soar as high as 42 degree-Celsius for the next six to eight days, the Pakistan Meteorological Department on Sunday issued an alert on Sunday.
According to the Met office, high-pressure area is expected to be formed in Central Asia inducing wind to flow from North to Northwest in areas of Sindh.
The Met office forecast that for the next six to eight days in Karachi a “very hot and dry” weather is expected with temperatures ranging between 39-42 degrees during the day and varying levels of humidity. During the evening, the mercury is expected to drop to 25 degrees.
Meanwhile, the Met office has advised people to wear clothes made from breathable fabric that enables the body to cool down.
Citizens are also advised to take necessary precautions and stay indoors between 11am and 4pm which will be the “peak hours” of heatwave, reports said.
