Russia Tests Hypersonic Cruise Missile on Putin’s Birthday

Russia on Tuesday has successfully test launched a Tsirkon (Zircon) hypersonic cruise missile in the Barents Sea , a senior Russian commander reported.

According to the details, the test launch of cruise missile was done on the Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s 68th birthday.

Valery Gerasimov, chief of the army’s general staff of Russia, while speaking to Putin by video conference, said the test strike had been carried out from the Admiral Gorshkov vessel which was located in the White Sea.

Putin has vowed to strengthen Russia’s military presence in the Arctic region.
