Imran Khan engages with a group of journalists inside Adiala jail

Imran Khan engaged with a group of journalists inside Adiala Jail on Monday for the first time since his arrest.

The court decided to indict Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi on December 12 in the Ciper case. Proceedings of the case were conducted by the Official Secrets Act special court judge in Adiala Jail.

Speaking to the media person, the former PTI chairman predicted that his party would win the February 8 elections, adding that he was arrested under a plan.

The former Prime Minister also shared that he did not face any difficulties in jail.

Imran Khan said that he did not experience any anxiety in the jail and wanted to thank a few leaders who had left the PTI.

The former PTI chairman claimed that the May 9 violence was part of, what he calls, ‘the London Plan’.

“You could review the CCTV footage. It will tell you who led them in [the Lahore Corp Commander House],” he said.

Imran Khan maintained that his arrest was unconstitutional.

After the May 9 incident, around 10,000 people were arrested in 48 hours, he added.

Imran Khan was quoted as saying by the reporters who met him inside the jail, that he was never offered talks and was ready to stay behind bars for a long period, but at the same time, he could guarantee that the PTI would win the upcoming general election.

Imran Khan also said that former Army Chief General (r) Qamar Javed Bajwa and American Ambassador Donald Blome should also be summoned to the cipher case hearing.

His remarks were later confirmed by Babar Awan in his media talk outside the Adiala jail as well.

Babar Awan added that the ‘witch hunt’ in the cipher case was being carried out along the lines of the Agartala Conspiracy case.

Awan said that the PTI wanted international observers to witness the trial as well.

Imran Khan also spoke about the allegations put forward against him by Khawar Maneka — the former husband of his wife Bushra Bibi.

He said that he saw his wife’s face for the first time after their nikkah.

The former prime minister also claimed that Bushra Bibi’s sons were being pressurised to state their mother.

Imran Khan found the opportunity to speak with reporters as he was produced before the special court set up to hear the cypher case on Monday.
