Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan termed the NAB notices issued to him as illegal in the Toshakhana probe.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) asked former Prime Minister Imran Khan to answer 12 questions as it submitted a questionnaire to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday.
In reply to the notices, Imran Khan is reported to have written that it was not a crime just to keep gifts.
“It has not been informed in the notice whether I am being summoned as an accused or witness. As per the NAB Amendment Ordinance 2022, it has not been told what is the nature of the crime,” the former prime minister maintained.
Imran Khan said the NAB former chairman had disclosed that he was being pressurized.
“It is just an accident that he has been issued the notice after the resignation of the NAB chairman,” he added.
Imran Khan has demanded that the NAB should immediately withdraw the notice.
As reported, NAB has urged PTI Chairman Imran Khan to provide the receipts for the sale of gifts.
In the questionnaire, NAB also asked the former Prime Minister for providing photos of the gifts he received from the Toshakhana as evidence.
Furthermore, NAB has also sought details of gifts allegedly sold at the Islamabad Sector F-7 shop.
