Israeli military issues an evacuation warning to over one million Gaza City residents

Israel has called up some 3,60,000 army reservists and threatened a response to Hamas attack

The Israeli military has issued an evacuation warning to over one million Gaza City residents as it prepares for a ground offensive against Hamas!

On Friday, Israel’s military called for all civilians of Gaza City, more than one million people, to relocate south within 24 hours.

The development comes as the Israel Defense Forces are pounding the Gaza Strip from the air and are gearing up for a potential ground offensive with tanks and more than 300,000 reservists.

The Israeli military said it would operate “significantly” in Gaza City in the coming days and civilians would only be able to return when another announcement was made.

“Civilians of Gaza City, evacuate south for your own safety and the safety of your families and distance yourself from Hamas terrorists who are using you as human shields,” the military said in a statement.

“Hamas terrorists are hiding in Gaza City inside tunnels underneath houses and inside buildings populated with innocent Gazan civilians.”

The conflict escalated into a humanitarian crisis on Oct. 7 when Hamas’s armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel.

A multi-pronged surprise attack was launched that included a barrage of rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel via land, sea, and air.

Hamas in a statement said that the operation was in retaliation for the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against Palestinians.
