It was reported on November 22, 2018, that a 41-kg croaker fish or Arabian Sea meagre fish (Argyrosomus henii), locally known as Kir (Sowa), caught off the Gwadar coast by a local fisherman, was auctioned for a whopping Rs 1.14 million.
Last year, the bid for the croaker went up to Rs8.6 million and fish of around 48kg was sold for nearly Rs7 million.
This particular fish comes near the coast only during the current season for breeding.
