Nine Pakistanis Have Made It To This Year’s Forbes’ 30 under 30 Asia List

2018 is an year to be proud! For Pakistanis, the year has brought nothing but pride from around the world. We have had a successful PSL season locally and people have started recognizing Pakistan, for more than its terror related attacks and activities.

Another moment of pride comes in for Pakistan as 9 young Pakistanis make it to the Forbes’ 30 under 30 Asia list. The list of the year 2018 features 30 game changers, young innovators and disruptors across 10 categories. They are are the ones who have brought major contributions and “are reinventing industries and driving changes ” in the continent. 

Momina Mustehsan, 26, Musician

26 years old Momina became the national sensation after she featured in Coke Studio, season 8, song with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Momina Mustehsan, the  musician and activist, has a huge social media following. The girl has been using her influence to advocate for social causes important to her, including women’s rights, cyber bullying and mental health awareness.

Sadia Bashir, 29, Founder PixelArt Games Academy

Sadia Bashir is a 29 years old entrepreneur, her name is added in the list under the Enterprise Technology category. Sadia has  co-founded Pixel Art Games Academy, the mission of which is to plug the void between industry demand and education, it does that by providing training in video game development and recruitment opportunities.

Muhammad Shaheer Niazi, 17, Scientist

Muhammad Shaheer is probably the youngest Pakistani to be added in the list included in the Healthcare and Science category. Shaheer has found a way to photograph the movement of ions forming a honeycomb-like shape when electrically-charged particles try to pass through a pool of oil. His research is published in the Royal Open Science Journal and he  aspires to win the Nobel prize in physics.

Hamza Farrukh, 24, Founder Bondh-E-Shams

Hamza Farrukh is also  listed in the category of  Social Entrepreneurs. He has  founded Bondh-e-Shams-The Solar Water Project. Hamza Farukh has developed a solar-powered water extraction and filtration system which costs $8,000 and has a lifespan of 25 years. Hamza’s system can serve  5,000 people approximately daily.

Syed Faizan Hussain, 24, Founder Perihelion Systems

Syed Faizan is a 24 years old entrepreneur who is also a solution-driven social activist. His non-profit organization,  Perihelion Systems aims to make lives  better of those using technology. Some of the major Perihelion’s products includes,  Edu-Aid, an American Sign Language translating software; One Health, a disease surveillance and tracking system used to predict outbreaks and alert health institutions to expedite intervention; and Glove Gauge, wearable technology to facilitate professional production processes such as measurements.

Adnan and Adeel Shaffi of PriceOye 

Adnan and Adeel aged 28 and 29 respectively, the Shafi brothers too made to the list under the category of Retail and Ecommerce. They  both have founded PriceOye, an online price comparison engine for mobile phones in second and third-tier Pakistani cities. This site is very popular and it enjoys over a million views per month.

Muhammad Asad Raza and Abrahim Ali Shah, 23, Neurostic

Both Muhammad Raza and Abrahim Ali Shah aged 23 have made to the list in the category of Healthcare and Science,  both are the CEO and the CTO respectively, of healthcare startup Neurostic. The firm Neurostic uses technology to improve healthcare services and products across the developing countries. They have also developed affordable prosthetic limbs for amputees.
