On PM Shehbaz’s request, KSA to release Pakistanis sentenced in Masjid-e-Nabwi incident

Pakistani citizens had heckled federal ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Shahzain Bugti at Prophet’s Mosque after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif landed in Madinah in April this year.

On PM Shehbaz’s request, KSA will release Pakistanis sentenced in the Masjid-e-Nabwi incident, it emerges on Tuesday.

Saudi crown prince and prime minister Mohammed Bin Salman has ordered for the release of the Pakistanis imprisoned for rioting at Masjid-e-Nabawi.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who is currently in Saudi Arabia in a tweet informed about the latest development.

“I am deeply grateful to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Muhammad bin Salman, who, on my request, ordered the release of the Pakistanis arrested in Saudi Arabia for the April 2022 incident. We pray to Allah Almighty to make us better Muslims who forgive each other’s mistakes,” Shehbaz Sharif said in a tweet.

 

Earlier in April, a Madinah court had sentenced three Pakistanis to 8 years and the other three to 6 years in prison.

Three of the accused including Anas, Irshad, and Muhammad Saleem were sentenced to 6 years in prison, each.

While Khawaja Luqman, Muhammad Afzal, and Ghulam Muhammad were handed eight years of imprisonment.

The court also imposed a fine of 20,000 Riyals on each of them and confiscated their mobile phones.

The above mention Pakistani citizens had heckled federal ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Shahzain Bugti at Prophet’s Mosque PBUH after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif landed in Madinah in April this year.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and prayed for the solidarity of Pakistan and the prosperity of its people on Wednesday.

The prime minister also offered prayers at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).
