Breaking: Pakistan recalls ambassador from Iran in protest of strike in Balochistan

Pakistan has also suspended all diplomatic current and planned activities with Iran.

Pakistan has recalled its ambassador from Iran hours after a violation of airspace that killed 2 children.

Foreign Office spokesperson in a media briefing on Wednesday announced the decision to recall its country’s ambassador and expel the Iranian ambassador in protest of to strike in Balochistan’s border town of Panjgur.

Pakistan has also suspended all diplomatic current and planned activities with Iran.

Pakistan strongly condemns the unprovoked breach of sovereignty, calling it against ‘international law’.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in a brief press conference said that Pakistan has asked the Iranian ambassador in Islamabad to return due to the attack on Balochistan.

FO spokesperson said that diplomatic visits between Iran and Pakistan are being stopped.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that Pakistan has informed the Iranian government about its decision.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan issued a strongly worded condemnation on Wednesday, denouncing what it described as the “unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran”.

According to a Foreign Office (FO) statement released after midnight, the attack resulted in the “deaths of two innocent children while injuring of three girls”.

The FO statement did not mention the location where the casualties took place. But Iranian state media said the attack took place in the border town of Panjgur in Balochistan.

As reported two missiles fired from Iran hit a house and a mosque in the border town of Panjgur.

Late Tuesday night Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency said the “focal point of this operation was the region known as Kouh-Sabz (green mountain)” in Balochistan, targeting the terrorist group, Jaish-ul-Adl.

“Two key strongholds of the Jaysh al-Dhulm (Jaish al-Adl) terrorist group in Pakistan” were “specifically targeted and successfully demolished by a combination of missile and drone attacks”, the Tasnim news agency reported.
