Parvez Elahi rearrested hours after release in Lahore

Earlier today the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the anti-graft watchdog to release Elahi.

Parvez Elahi was rearrested hours after release in Lahore on Friday!

As reported Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi was rearrested under 3-MPO (Maintenance of Public Order) by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police.

Taking to X-platform Moonis Elahi said: “After the high court’s orders and on the judge’s instructions police including court security were taking my father home.

“As the car entered our street, it was stopped and he was abducted.”

He added that if courts were going to be “ridiculed like this maybe they should officially declare it”.

Soon video clips showing Parvez Elahi being arrested flooded the social media timelines.

Unidentified men in plain clothes can be seen dragging the former Punjab chief minister from inside his car.

Lawyer Latif Khosa can also be seen in the video clip, who was pushed aside by the unidentified persons.

As reported, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police are transporting Parvez Elahi from Lahore to the federal capital.

He would be put under house arrest in Adiala jail for the next 15 days, the sources privy to the matter added.

 

 

Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the anti-graft watchdog NAB to release Parvez Elahi.
