Petrol-diesel prices in Pakistan have reached an all-time high!
The caretaker government late Friday night announced another massive hike in petrol and diesel prices, taking them to Rs331.38 and Rs329.18 per litre, respectively.
The price of petrol has been increased by Rs26.02 per litre.
While the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs17.34 per litre.
The new prices take effect from September 16, 2023.
The Ministry of Finance in the notification maintained that the decision was taken owing to the increasing trend of petroleum prices in the international market.
Meanwhile, no revision in the rates of kerosene and light diesel oil was specified.
Sources a day earlier claimed that the prices of petrol and HSD — could go up by about Rs10-14 and Rs14-16 per litre, respectively, for the next fortnight, while kerosene price was also expected to get costlier by about Rs10 per litre, based on the existing tax rates and import parity price.
