PM Imran Khan congratulates Narendra Modi for winning general elections, he responds back

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi after BJP wins 2019 general elections.

In a tweet, PM Imran Khan wrote: “I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress, and prosperity in South Asia”.

And a while later Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Pakistani PM Imran Khan for wishing him over election victory.

In his reply, Mr. Narendra Modi wrote: “Thank you, PM Imran Khan.”
“I warmly express my gratitude for your good wishes. I have always given primacy to peace and development in our region”, he further added.

As being reported BJP swept the Indian national election in trends released by the Election Commission. Narendra Modi’s right-wing party with close ideological and organizational links to the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has taken a comfortable majority in the 543-seat Lok Sabha, for which elections were held in 542 seats. A party or an alliance needs 272 seats to form a government.

The formation of the next government in New Delhi would determine the course of bilateral ties between India and Pakistan, amid post Pulwama Attack tense relations.
