Shahnawaz Jadoon, the member of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Sindh Assembly, has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Jadoon was screened after minor symptoms of the COVID-19 and tested positive for the infection.
The PTI member has placed himself in quarantine after his test reports came out on Saturday night.
Jadoon has said that he will defeat the virus and also requested people to pray for his speedy recovery.
Note that 11 other members of the Sindh assembly have been diagnosed for the deadly virus. Of these 7 were from PPP, 2 from MQM and 1 member from MMA and PTI each.
Around 50% members have been tested for coronavirus in the provincial assembly out of the total 168 members.
It was also decided during the last session of Sindh assembly that the upcoming sessions will be held with 50% attendance so that social distancing would be maintained.
More than 28,000 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sindh, so far and 481 people have died.
