The crescent of Ramadan has not been sighted in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday evening.
Subsequently, Ramadan will commence on the night of Wednesday, the first day of fasting on Thursday in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court called on Muslims to sight the Ramadan crescent on the evening of March 21, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Supreme Court called on those who sight the crescent of the month of Ramadan – whether by the naked eye or through binoculars – to report it to the nearest court and register their observation.
As reported, the Supreme Court committee arrived at the Tumair Observatory to witness the results of the investigation on Tuesday evening.
Following this, the official announcement was made.
The astronomer advisor Abdullah Al-Khudairi confirmed that the vision of the moon this evening is not scientifically & legally verified for 2 reasons:
1) The crescent will be set 16 minutes before the sun.
2) The pairing will be before midnight.
