Rami Malek opens up about delays in shooting Bond 25

The Oscar winner actor Rami Malek has dismissed rumours about the upcoming Bond movie, including that key scenes between Malek and Bond star, Daniel Craig was not going to be able to be shot.

As quoted by the Digital Spy, “The key scenes is something that was fabricated”.

Not much is known about the specifics of his character in upcoming Bond 25, but in a recent new interview, Malek has revealed one trait he absolutely refused to play and has one good reason for that.

Born to Egyptian parents, the 38-year-old American star has confirmed that his character will not be a terrorist.

While talking at the presser, when he was asked if the character will hail from Egypt; Rami Malek replied: “No, absolutely not”.

“Another thing that I discussed with Cary [Fukunaga, director]; I said we cannot identify him with any act of terrorism reflecting an ideology or a religion.

“That’s not something I would entertain, so if that is why I am your choice then you can count me out.”
He added: “But that was clearly not his vision.”

Malek also addressed reports that speculated that the movie’s scheduling was in crisis because he and Craig were not available to film at the same time after Craig’s injury.

Daniel Craig hits the gym in a leg cast following Bond 25 injury

“The key scenes is something that was fabricated,” he explained. “But the thing is, Daniel was injured, so they are shooting what they can”.

“I talked to Cary yesterday and the schedule has been altered. I know that.”

“But with a franchise like this, I think they have it together. They have it figured out by now,” he said.

“I haven’t shot with Daniel yet, but I’m thrilled to work with him,” he told about his shooting in Norway where Craig was not present.

The actor further said that managing Bond 25 while shooting the final installment of Mr. Robot in New York has been “one of the most difficult seasons” of the show to shoot.

“But during the hiatuses, or weeks off, I have had the luxury and privilege of going to work on the next James Bond film. It is taxing. I will not lie; it is very, very taxing,” Malek added.
