Prince William and Kate Middleton were flown to Chitral by Pakistan army flyers on Italian Leonordo’s VIP transport Augusta Westland AW139 helicopter.

Upon their arrival in Chitral, they were given a warm welcome by the locals and of course reminded everyone of Princess Diana’s visit to Chitral in 1991.

Prince William and Kate Middleton were presented the traditional coat and the headgear of Chitrali scouts called Pakol. Kate Middleton was also presented with a traditional Chitrali shawl, which they both adored.

They were also given a book commemorating Princess Diana’s 1991 visit.

For this trip to North Kate Middleton chose to wear a long plain brown dress with long boots.

The royal couple explored the glaciers in the stunning Broghil National Park to raise awareness about the devastating consequences of climate change on the landscape.

Later, they visited a local village situated nearby in the valley where they observed the destruction caused by severe flash flooding as a result of melting glaciers.

On this visit, people can’t stop gushing over Kate Middleton for following into her later mother in law footsteps.  The royal couple was presented with the same traditional outfits which Princess of Wales wore during her visit to the area thirty years ago.

And now we await to see them at the Kalash village and of course Duchess dress choice for this trip.  Their tour to Chitral has just begun and there is a lot more to follow before they fly back home on 18 Oct.
