Senator Faisal Javed Quits Pakistan-France Parliamentary Friendship Group as Protest

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf’s (PTI) senator Faisal Javed has quit the Pakistan-France Parliamentary Friendship group as a protest against the French President Emanuel Macron’s comments against Muslims. The senator in his letter to Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani maintained that Macron had ignited the flames of Islamophobia with his remarks.

“Such actions by the French president contributed and further invigorated the Islamophobia,” Dawn news reported excerpt from the letter written by Javed.

“Demonising Islam and blaspheming the holiest figures will further polarise the humanity and provide breeding grounds for radical views.
