Shireen Mazari quits PTI and announces to leave politics on Tuesday!
Former human rights minister Shireen Mazari announced her decission addressing a press conference, and also condemned the violence that ensued on May 9 following the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
“I condemn the violence on May 9 and 10. I also gave an undertaking to the Islamabad High Court in this regard.
“Not just May 9 and 10, but I have always condemned the violence on state symbols like GHQ, Parliament and Supreme Court,” she added.
The development comes as the now former PTI leader Dr. Shireen Mazari was arrested for the fifth time on Monday.
Mazari was taken into custody from outside the court of a judicial magistrate in Kharian soon after she was set free by the court.
The PTI leader was arrested by the Gujrat police after her release from Adiala Jail on Monday.
The former Human Rights Minister was arrested in a case registered against her on May 11 in Kharian.
Mazari is accused of taking part in a protest demonstration held on May 10 in Kharian against Pakistan and inciting the public.
Dr. Mazari was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate Akhtar Ali on Tuesday.
Dr. Mazari’s lawyer told the court that she was not present in the protest and she never visited Kharian before. Listening to the arguments, the magistrate ordered the immediate release of the PTI leader.
A video that surfaced on social media after her release shows unidentified people in a vehicle having no number plate taking away the PTI leader from the court premises.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Farrukh Habib said on Monday that party leader Shireen Mazari was re-arrested outside the Adiala Jail by the Punjab police once again, despite securing bail from the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Farrukh in a tweet said at the time the “law of the jungle” is prevailing in the country, and the ruling of any court is not being recognized.
