The Sind government has announced a public holiday for the Hindu community on the occasion of Holi.
The official notification by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department today stated, “The Government of Sindh declares 06th and 7th March 2023 (Monday & Tuesday) as a holiday for Hindu Community on the occasion of “HOLI” for all offices, autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of Government of Sindh, except those engaged in COVID-19 and flood relief duties.”
Holi is regarded as the Hindu spring festival also known as the “festival of colours”.
Each year Holi is celebrated by the Hindu community in Pakistan.
The Holi festival is celebrated on the last full moon day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month, signalling the end of winter and the arrival of spring.
