Talon News HD has shut down citing industry challenges, laying off all employees
Karachi-based news broadcasting channel launched in 2021, announced that it is shutting down due to insurmountable challenges and an untenable business model.
“This decision comes after much deliberation, understanding the significant impact it has on our dedicated employees, loyal viewers, and esteemed stakeholders,” the news agency said in a message posted on X.
Talon News stated the reason for closing down the channel amid the combination of financial difficulties, tough competition from other TV channels, unreliable viewership ratings, government influence on news reporting, and high expenses, especially paying salaries for news anchors.
