The first lunar eclipse of 2023, fully visible in Pakistan, will begin at 8:14 pm PST

The first lunar eclipse of 2023, will be fully visible in Pakistan, that will begin at 8:14 pm PST tonight.

The rare phenomenon will be visible in Asian countries, and southern and eastern Europe.

The partial lunar eclipse will be fully visible in Pakistan tonight.

According to the Met Office, the lunar eclipse will begin at 8:14 pm PST and will be at its peak at 10:22 pm, PST and the astronomical event will end after midnight as its duration will be around four hours and 18 minutes.

The total duration of the lunar eclipse will be 4 hours and 18 minutes.

Apart from Pakistan, the eclipse will be seen in Europe and Asia. In countries including Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Iran, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Russia, China and many other Asian countries.

This eclipse is a penumbral eclipse, in which the outer part of the Earth’s central shadow falls on the Moon, dimming the Moon.

The effect of this type of eclipse is not very visible, the Earth’s shadow “covers” only 58% of the Moon, during this type of eclipse the Moon is 10% less bright than usual and only a slight shadow is visible on the Moon.
