At least five people were killed and as many as 13 were injured as a tourist bus plunged into a deep ravine in the Thalichi area of the Diamer district, rescue officials said Sunday.
The bus was on its way to Gilgit via Karakoram Highway from Islamabad.
Diamer Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Ayaz confirmed the death toll and the number of injured adding that the deceased included three women, a child, and a man.
A statement released by the office of Gilgit Commissioner Najeeb Alam said that efforts were made to contact the families of the deceased.
