Utility Stores workers announce strike a day before Ramazan

Utility stores workers have announced strike a day before Ramazan.

President All Pakistan Workers Unions Syed Arif Shah made the announcement saying that the workers of utility stores across the country will go on strike indefinitely from today (Friday) if the demands are not met.

Arif Shah further added that that strike will continue across the country till all the demands are accepted.

Arif Shah also stressed that the government had announced to pay extra wages to the utility store workers for working during the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, as well as to provide safety equipment to the workers which were not met.

In the current situation, Prime Minister Imran Khan should issue immediate orders to solve our problems, he further added.

A day earlier, negotiations between the Managing Director and Chairman Utility Stores Corporation and All Pakistan Workers Union failed.
