Facebook image CDN is down, affecting Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users around the world. Areas affected include the UK, northern Europe, the east coast of the US and parts of South America
DownDetector, a platform which tracks website issues in real-time stated that the problems started around afternoon. According to stats, 86% are unable to access the news feed and a lot of the comments are about being unable to post, view pictures and/or download videos, audios on WhatsApp.
According to representatives at Facebook, ‘We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble uploading images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,’ a company spokesperson said.
