Darren Sammy, captain of Peshawar Zalmi on Tuesday has refuted claims of friction between him and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise owner Javed Afridi.
It all started with Sammy’s tweet which was taken by the media as an encrypted message. It was a day ago when he tweeted, “I’ve learned that you are important until you’ve completed your role. #dealingwithhumans”
With these Sammy’s words, the media was quick to make a mountain out of a molehill. as Sammy was given a rest against Karachi Kings match last night and it was linked with reports of Sammy having some disaccord with the team officials.
However, the decision was taken after Sammy’s struggles for form and fitness, during which time Zalmi has descended to fifth on the PSL 2020 points table.
And once again, Zalmi Skipper had to take it to social media to clear the air.
Refuting reports of disaccord with the franchise, Sammy wrote, “I can’t believe that the media would think that my bro @JAfridi10 and I would ever have an issue. I’m actually laughing at this. Listen, guys, I love this man as my own brother. Are u guys serious @PeshawarZalmi is my baby and nothing comes between us. Absolutely nothing”.
