British Pakistani boxer Amir Khan who earlier offered his Islamabad boxing academy to be converted into quarantine center for Coronavirus patients has now donated Rs40 million to the charities combating the pandemic in the country. The boxer also urged his fellow Pakistani and UK celebrities and sports personalities to play their part and help those in need.
“I urge high profile UK & Pakistan celebrities & sportsmen/women to do their bit in helping the people,” said Amir as he took it to Twitter to bring attention to the matter.
“The country supports you all when you’re on the sports field, stage & big screen. Don’t hide, come out and do your bit!” he added.
Amir further wrote that these celebrities “have the power to help” hence they should not hide away in this time of crisis.
