Anne Hathaway has often come off as a genuine and relatable person with her humbleness and openness on discussing issues that many stars shy away from. Not someone to hold back to maintain a fake reputation, Anne has also been quite vocal about her drinking problems and mental health issues.
In a recent interview with a Hollywood magazine, the actress once again opened up about her struggle with anxiety and negativity and while many would resort to philosophical ideas, the Oceans eight actress came up with a completely doable plan.
Talking about a method she uses to handle her anxiety, Anne recommended burning down the negative thoughts in quite a literal way. She shared that whenever she’s having an attack of negative thoughts she sets up a timer of 12 minutes on her phone and this is what she does:
“Set a timer on your phone, have a candle nearby, and write it all down. You spew it all out. You do not read it,” said The Intern actress.
“The timer goes off, you tear it out of the book, and you light it on fire. All of this energy, this angst, this rage—everything is smoke,” she concluded.
Now that’s some solid advice and completely worth trying if one wants to face their problems.
